Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I haven’t knit since before Callan was born, and he’s coming up on 10 months (!!!) in a few days. So I broke out my dusty needles and rusty knitting fingers and cast on a hat for my youngest, who manages to have a head that does not fit right in any of the gazillion hats we have floating around here. It’s just as well; he needs his own handmade hat, doesn’t he? Doesn’t the youngest deserve to be the first to wear a mama-knit hat every once in a while? (By the way, that’s the same yarn I used for Jason’s hat last year for his birthday. I think it will look darling on Cal, don’t you? The flecks of blue are perfect with his eyes.)
I also have three Elizabeth Zimmermann Tomtens waiting to be finished. (Yes, three.) Asher’s still needs a zipper (for shame!) and ends woven in (I can put that off forever, can’t you?), and Maya’s and Ellery’s are still on the needles. I will work on them once the hat’s done. Despite the monotony involved in these sweaters (garter, garter, more garter), I love them and will make more.
What do you have on the needles?
